History Tucepi - Historical and Cultural Information About Tucepi
Some findings confirm population on this places even in ancient times. It was first mentioned in written historical document in1434, but under the present name was mentioned in the 15th century. Here were found the remains of an early Christian church from 5th-6th century and several Middle ages tombstones. In the vicinity of the current hotel Neptun on the ruins of the villa rustica was built a church of St. Juraj from the 13th century. Towers that were used to defend the town from Turkish attacks have been preserved till today, and represent a particular historical scene.
